VIOBAC offers the first holistic solution: a small, simple, and easy-to-apply wearable click-on device, which, in a prophylactic manner, prevents infections during the whole application period without patient harm.

The device is clicked on the indwelling catheter outside the patient without needing daily removal. No external wires, strings, or power supply - truly wearable.

CAUTIs in Hospitals

Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are the most common hospital-acquired infections, accounting for up to 40% of all hospital infections globally and over 1 million cases annually in the U.S.

Approximately 25% of hospitalized patients undergo catheterization, with nearly 30% developing a CAUTI. The risk of infection increases daily, and after three weeks, virtually all catheterized patients will develop a UTI. This is due to biofilms—bacterial communities that adhere to catheter surfaces—making infections resistant to both the immune system and antibiotics, and nearly impossible to eradicate without removing the catheter.

BaLu™ UV Protection
